A field experiment was conducted in Al-Najaf Al Ashraf Governorate during the summer season of 2017 to study the effect of foliar application with a nano fertilizer (Super Micro Plus) at three levels (0, 1, and 2 g L-1) and three application stages (tillering, booting, and flowering) on the availability and uptake of micronutrients (Fe, Zn, Cu, and Mn) in rice (Oryza sativa L.) Amber 33 variety. The results indicated that the highest level of nano fertilizer (2 g L-1) significantly improved the availability of iron, copper, and manganese in the soil, as well as their uptake in straw. Additionally, the flowering stage showed the best results for manganese availability and uptake.
Micronutrient Availability: The application of 2 g L-1 of nano fertilizer resulted in higher availability of iron, copper, and manganese in the soil.
Uptake in Straw: The uptake of iron, zinc, copper, and manganese in straw was significantly enhanced with the higher concentration of nano fertilizer.
Quality Properties: The protein percentage and white grain percentage also increased with the application of nano fertilizer, particularly at the flowering stage.
The study concluded that foliar application of nano fertilizers can significantly enhance the availability and uptake of essential micronutrients in rice, leading to improved quality properties.
